Level One ($0.015 per word) - View Sample

Editor will:
1) Correct errors in grammar and punctuation.
2) Correct average to minor errors in syntax (i.e., the ordering of and relationship between the words and other structural elements in phrases and sentences.)
3) Query phrases and word choices deemed inappropriate for the subject matter or readership.
4) Flag instances where permission from an outside source may be needed.
5) Correct commonly known errors, such as changing The Jay Leno Show to The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno.

Editor will not:
a) Restructure more than minor sentence structure issues.
b) Significantly alter word choice. The editor will, however, suggest that the author change significantly inappropriate items to make them more appropriate to the readership.


Level Two ($0.018 per word) - View Sample

For a Level Two, you will receive your manuscript back with all comments from the editor and you may accept or reject the changes.

Editor will:
1) Correct errors in grammar and punctuation.
2) Correct errors in syntax in regard to sentence structure. In certain instances, the editor may suggest the author change the sentence structure in order to preserve the intended meaning.
3) Alter phrases and word choices deemed inappropriate for the subject matter or readership.
4) Flag instances where permission from an outside source may be needed.
5) Promote accuracy of content by providing light research as warranted. (i.e., look up biblical quotes, common statistics, etc.)
6) Preserve plot line, character traits, and consistency throughout.
7) Flag minor instances where the material strays from the intended purpose.
8) Maintain development documents to maintain plot line and character traits in fiction titles.
9) For nonfiction manuscripts, the editor will preserve consistency throughout by noting author’s individual theories, title-specific terminology, etc.

Editor will not:
a) Reorganize paragraphs to make the material more logical to the reader. If this is required, a heavy substantive edit is more appropriate.
b) Provide a full fact check to the document. Only easy to find facts are checked by the editor.
