PENDIUM AUTHORS CAN NOW HAVE THEIR BOOK
AVAILABLE ON KINDLE READERS

Kindle Conversion and Formatting: $195.00

PENDIUM authors can now have their book on Amazon's most heavily promoted and bestselling reading device - the Kindle.

Your book will be available for purchase on Kindle devices and Kindle apps for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, PC, Mac, Blackberry, and Android-based devices. This means any person with this app or one of these devices can instantly purchase and download your book, resulting in an immediate sale for you - the author.

Additional formats, beyond just paperback and hardback, means the possibility for more exposure and sales for your book. We strongly encourage each of our authors to take advantage of this publishing medium. Read the case studies below to see how self-published authors are succeeding beyond just the traditional book. The authors listed below are not PENDIUM authors - but with hard work, you can have the same success.

Kindle Case Study: John Locke

The self-published, thriller author John Locke is the author of seven books, all of which have hit the Kindle bestseller list. He says he’s had five books on Kindle’s top 10 list simultaneously, and claims that “every seven seconds, 24 hours a day, a John Locke novel is downloaded somewhere in the world.” Locke prices all his e-books at $0.99, pulling in $0.35 for each one sold (Amazon pays a 30% royalty on Kindle books priced under $2.99). He sold 369,000 ebooks on Amazon in March, and told the Wall Street Journal he made $126,000 that month.

Kindle Case Study: Amanda Hocking

Amanda Hocking, the 27-year-old self-published author who sold over 1 million copies of her e-books, has been added to Amazons Kindle Million Club". Hocking is the second self-published author to sell over 1 million paid copies of her books on Kindle, after John Locke. Hocking made somewhere between $1.5 and $2 million on her own by having her book available as a kindle edition. She later signed a four-book contract with traditional publisher St. Martins earlier this year for an estimated $2 million.

Our customers love reading all kinds of books on their Kindle, and its thanks to them that the Kindle Million Club keeps growing so quickly, said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President of Kindle Content.

What is the Amazon Kindle?
The Kindle is a wireless reading device that allows the owner to instantly download books and read them. Books submitted thru the required process for Amazon Kindle will appear on Amazon.com just like any physical paperback or hardback edition. If you currently have a paperback or hardback published, the Kindle edition will be noted/linked to these versions on your Amazon book page. This allows potential buyers to have another format to read your book that is instant.

Kindle books are “Buy Once, Read Everywhere” – on Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle Touch 3G, Kindle Fire, on the web with Kindle Cloud Reader, and free Kindle reading apps for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, PCs, Mac, Android phones and tablets, BlackBerry and Windows phones.

What are the benefits of my book being available on Amazon Kindle?
1. It allows your book to be available in another format and available on a device heavily promoted by Amazon, that has already been purchased by millions of readers. This opens your book up to potential buyers by having your book available in the kindle store and as an instant download.

2. Sales obtain thru the Kindle Store are all profit (minus Amazon's share, of course), just like that of your paperback or hardback editions - meaning you don't share anything with PENDIUM. Payments are directly deposited into your checking account by Amazon, and are not split with PENDIUM. You, the author, earn it all.

3. A Kindle sale offers an inexpensive way for new authors to attract new readers. In most cases, if a reader buys your ebook and enjoys it they may actually purchase the paperback or hardback edition of your title as well.

How do I start the process of my book being available on Kindle?
First - having your book published in paperback or hardback is not required. We do, however, recommend a book cover (front only, will suffice) and that your best work is submitted for the Kindle (meaning your work should be professionally edited - either by your own editor or PENDIUM). In order for a book to be readable on the Kindle, your MSWord manuscript has to be formatted and converted specifically for the Kindle - so that it displays properly on the reading device. This can be a complex process if you're not familiar with epublishing. PENDIUM will handle everything required by Amazon.com for books that DO NOT contain columns / tables / borders / bullet lists / numerous graphics / footnotes / endnotes. These types of things normally do not display well.
